This was our second year at this house and we have booked it again for next year. We love the kitchen, living room, and dining room all open to each other. It has nice little front yard that the kids can play in and be watched from the living and dining rooms. We like the location of the house also. You are far enough south of down town Cannon Beach to not have alot of people on the beach, and only a short drive to down town.
My only "complaint" is that we couldn't get the bbq to work. This place is an awesome place and we will continue to try to go back every year that we can. The walk on the beach is perfect distance to Cannon Beach downtown
We've rented this property numerous times and will continue to do so. It is the best! Large and open it is great for families/friends. Everyone can have their own "space." Huge kitchen!
We loved it overall. Would highly recommend this home and can't wait to head back next year!
We love the Griswald house and stay there a week every summer. We thought it would be nice to stay an extra week this year and rented another home for the second week of our stay closer to town. It was a sweet home but NOT the Griswald house. It is so far and away the best house in Cannon beach!
There are lots of glasses and dishes but no bowls, always have to bring my own. Carpet needs cleaning. But we keep coming back year after year, overall very satisfied.
We had a wonderful time. Great location, very fine property, spacious, carpet needs cleaning badly.
Careful detail was put into the design, decor and ambience of the house. My only wish was that there was a hot tub to enjoy the experience that much more.
This house was fabulous. The view of the ocean and having direct access to the beach was perfect. We loved the house and our stay so much that we have booked it again for 2010. The CBPM people are super to work with. This was out fifth year renting a house from them and every time has been very enjopyable. We plan to return for many years to come.
Our stay was WONDERFUL!!! The only suggestion I would have would be to fix the oven. The upper oven is very hard to turn on and the lower oven got stuck in the lock position. It took us a while to get it unlocked. Also, the knives barely cut (need to be sharpened) and there are not very many bowls (a ton of plates though!). Overall, our stay was awesome!
We had 2 days of rain out of 7, the house was fabulous and very comfortably accomodated all 10 of us. It's more than fully equipped which was REALLY nice to see. We all felt very much at home in this house. The owners and CBPM do a great job with this house. This year's stay was perfect in every way and we're looking forward to staying in this house again next year. P.S. Highly recommend reading the house info so you'll know the fireplace is wood burning, but also has a gas line (key to right) and good info about the TV (I think the downstairs setup runs the setup in the master).
We will be back. Loved our stay. Would like better info on the fireplace, didn't use it because did understand about the starter pipe.
The only thing we noticed was a lot of stains on the carpet and a crack in the upstairs bedroom window. Thank you very much.
We had a fantastic time and the location of the Griswold house couldn't have been better. We are hoping to come back next year!
This was our second visit to the Griswold House. Two years ago we stayed there for a week. It was the perfect set up for our three families. We had a wonderful time. The only drawback was lots of liquid sunshine the week we were there!
My three sisters and I, along with our husbands, chose Griswald House for a "Sister's Reunion." We all had a great time and found the house to be perfect for such an occasion. It's location right on the beach was wonderful. We especially enjoyed the sunsets over the ocean. The surrounding area has lots to offer as well.
This was the second time I rented the Griswald Home and it was fantastic. New furnishings made it feel a bit updated - but the real gem is its location. It was great to watch the waves right out the windows and walk down to the beach almost out the back door. I would highly recommend this as a vacation rental to anyone interested in a fantastic beach experience.
We really enjoyed our stay. The property management company was very professional, and we enjoyed the Griswold House. We will be returning.
