We had a great stay at the Harrison Hideaway. Easy short walk to the beach, comfortable rooms, nice common room with lovely trees visible all around the house, and great to have a kitchen to cook in. Our one recommendation to the owners/managers of this property is to please consider swapping out the teflon/non-stick cookware for safer alternatives. Thanks!Anonymous from Salt Lake City - Posted: 3/31/2026
Our experience at Harris Hideaway was extremely positive. The home was very clean, comfortable and the location was perfect - a short walk to the beach and downtown. We had a wonderful time and hope to be back again soon.Anonymous from East Wenatchee - Posted: 2/24/2026
We had a wonderful time at this property. We did find a significant number of rusty nails in the driveway by the front door, apparently left over from some construction work. We collected what we could but there may be some more. This should be addressed.Anonymous from Moscow - Posted: 7/30/2024
We visited places from Astoria to Depoe Bay using this house as a nice "home base" for us during our stay on the NW Oregon coast.
Wonderful accommodations but make sure your party is willing and able to climb stairs since the main level/kitchen is on the second floor. Blackout curtains in the bedrooms would be nice.Scott J - Posted: 7/11/2023
Beach is a very close walk . All the kids had there own bed.Adile M - Posted: 3/27/2022
The location was great, the house was very comfortable with everything we needed for our Thanksgiving dinner. Lots of room. And everyone we met in Cannon Beach was so incredibly nice.
It’s so close to beach, it’s quiet, there’s a lot of room in the house. Everything we need was there, even had a sweet little gift basket when we arrived. We were very happy!Lisa G - Posted: 11/28/2021

We liked the location of the house, but wished there would have been outdoor furniture to use and a more comfortable couch in the living area.Anonymous - Posted: 8/16/2020
Please see earlier comments. Access to a vacuum would have also been great.Anonymous - Posted: 8/16/2020

My family of 6 adults and 3 small children had a very nice stay at the Harrison Hideout. The location was very nice, just south of downtown Cannon Beach and just 1 block off the main thoroughfare of Hemlock Ave.
The open living room, kitchen, dining area allowed us to all be together in a comfortable space-not crowded. The living room furniture was adequate but not super comfy but there was room for 9 or 10 to sit. The dining room table seated 7 comfortably and the kitchen was well stocked.
The bedrooms were fine. Room for 4 upstairs and 4 downstairs, not counting the futon in the living room. However, on the upper floor you had to pass through a bedroom to get to the back bedroom. And downstairs the 2 twin beds were in a common living area with no door (not private). Fine for kids. There is a bathroom on each floor and they were very clean. Overall the entire house was clean for the most part.
There were a few negatives, but nothing to grievous. Extremely limited TV stations. No ESPN, TBS, TNT, or cable news, which seems basic. Only about 7 channels. There was a funny smell upon initial entry. We aired the place out and after a half hour we didn't notice it again. We also found 3 small dead birds on the deck outside the main living area and they had been there awhile. Also, if you have small children you might want to bring a gate to block the staircase.
In the end I would recommend this house and would stay there again myself.Anonymous from Selah - Posted: 5/18/2017
I really enjoyed the view from upstairs. I was disappointed that there was mold smell in the bathroom and the sheets were very crunchy in the master bedroom. My daughter slept in the bedroom next to the master upstairs and complained of a backache the next day. Due to the mold in the upstairs bathroom, we decided to leave early, which was very disappointing since we paid for a night that we didn't use. Parking was very challenging to get our SUV in and out of the driveway.Anonymous from Sherwood - Posted: 2/23/2017
CBPM has looked into the issues you have mentioned. The bathroom musty smell has been completed and mold smell removed. We are sorry this made your stay shortened. In the future, please notify our office and we will take care of on the spot so you would not have had to leave early.Cannon Beach Property Management staff
Our family had a wonderful time in the Harrison Hideaway house! The living areas are bright and spacious. It is just two blocks from shops and cafes, yet is it peaceful and quiet.Anonymous from PORTLAND - Posted: 6/1/2016

This home worked out perfectly for two families with plenty of space for all. Great location, within easy walking distance to beach and the main part of town.
The property was well maintained. One downside was very limited cable but there is WiFi.

Harrison Hideaway is a lovely home in a fantastic location. Sleeping accommodations were a little challenging for us (there were enough beds but oddly arranged for the make-up of our family of 8) but we made it work. The tv set up was the most challenging as we had difficulty getting the remotes to work and there were very few channels (though many are listed in the guide). We ended up hooking up a laptop to enable us to watch the channels we wanted. Despite that small glitch, we would definitely recommend this property.Anonymous from Vancouver - Posted: 4/14/2015

Our family spent Christmas at Harrison Hideaway. We were impressed by the well stocked kitchen--there was everything we needed to prepare our holiday meal. This house was large enough to accomodate a big group. The queen bed was comfortable while the doubles and twins and the futons were very to extremely uncomfortable. Their were two outside deck areas that are not utilized and dirty. Very unkempt and with no furniture. While we were told our house was prepared for us we actually had to wipe cobwebs off of one of the dining room chairs. I really could not recommend this house to a friend and would only recommend if they were staying a short weekend and needed a large house. The house is bright and comfortable and the one last thing is an open (sealed) stove pipe and fire wall where a wood stove once stood and the owners are too lazy and obviously don't care enough to remove the remains and make this nice for people paying to stay in their home.Anonymous from Chehalis - Posted: 5/30/2012

We all had an amazing time at the Harrison Hideaway. It was perfect for our group, and I will recommend it to people for sure. Only downsides were the weather(which we didn't expect to be great anyways), and the size of the tv(which we barely watched anyways, although there were some big football games on!). We appreciate the professionalism and friendliness of the people at Cannon Beach Property Management! Thanks for a great MLK weekend!Anonymous from Port Orchard - Posted: 2/1/2012

This house was ideal for our (3 women)quilting retreat needs. There were plenty of windows for natural light, plenty of light fixtures for evening light, plenty of outlets for our machines and ott lights, washer and dryer for preparing our fabric, and a quilt shop (Center Diamond) one block away! CB Property Mgmt provided us with an extra table to spread out. Restaurants, shops, grocery nearby, and the beach just 2 blocks away. We had a great time!Anonymous from Kent - Posted: 1/22/2010
